My story
In September 2024, I noticed what I thought was a simple mouth ulcer — just an irritant. Within weeks it became increasingly painful and started affecting everyday life. Thanks to an emergency dental appointment, then another, and then a fast‑tracked biopsy, things moved quickly. What began as pre‑cancerous changed to full cancer, leading to a 13‑hour operation and six weeks of daily radiotherapy. It has been — and continues to be — a long journey, now at a monitoring pace. I wouldn’t have made it through without the extraordinary medical team who supported me every step of the way. Macmillan Cancer Support are a huge part of that team, offering care, guidance, and strength when families need it most. This is why I feel so driven to support Macmillan: because their help changes lives, including mine. If you’re able to support me in any way, I would be deeply grateful. Your contribution helps Macmillan be there for the next family facing the shock, fear, and fight of a cancer diagnosis.Thank you, truly
