My story
I’m taking on the South Coast Mighty Hike to raise £250 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, because no one should have to face cancer alone.
Today, almost 3.5 million people in the UK are living with cancer, a figure that's growing steadily. Macmillan’s goal is to be there from diagnosis through every step of the journey.
Like me, you may know people who have had cancer, some who've sadly died as a result of it or those who are living with it, often with the support and help provided by Macmillan.
I'd like to help Macmillan to support more people - can you help with that?
Together with my sister Ali and sister-in-law Sheron, I'm going to do the South Coast Mighty Hike on 13 June 2026. It's a half-marathon being held in an area we know well, the Cuckmere valley, the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head, where I've been walking all my life - I remember my dad pushing Ali in the pushchair along the Seven Sisters when I was about 4!
My friend Godfrey, a great Marathon runner, died of cancer recently and I will be doing this walk in his memory.
I know he appreciated the help he received from Macmillan enormously and I would like to acknowledge this with your help.
If you can, it would be wonderful if you could support us with a donation - of whatever size you feel able to. My target is £250 which would be a fantastic amount to raise - please help if you are able to.
