My story
My sister in law Janet Lyons and I are the ‘Nifty Sixties’ team taking on the Lake District Mighty Hike on 6th June 2026. We are walking just over 26 miles (Marathon distance), trying to raise £500 together in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Like many of our friends, our families have been through the cancer journey with someone close to us. We want to ensure that no one should have to face cancer alone.
Today, almost 3.5 million people in the UK are living with cancer, a figure that's growing steadily. Macmillan’s goal is to be there from diagnosis through every step of the journey. We are raising money to help them with that goal.
