My story
I’m taking on the Cotswolds Mighty Hike to raise £250 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Today, almost 3.5 million people in the UK are living with cancer, a figure that's growing steadily. Macmillan’s goal is to be there from diagnosis through every step of the journey, because no one should have to face cancer alone.
In the past few years I have lost a lot of friends and family, to cancer, to suicide and to stroke.
In January this year my friend Grace asked if I would join her Mighty Hike team to fundraise in memory of her Mum, Jenny, who passed away from cancer in 2023.
My participation is also in memory my other beautiful friend who lost her fight against cancer in 2025, for 2 choir members who were diagnosed with cancer and received the all clear, and for my pal Gina (Rik) who passed away just 2 weeks after their cancer diagnosis in 2023.
It is for anyone affected by cancer, for everyone who has lost a friend or family member to cancer and to each person who has survived. But mostly, it's for my friends Grace and Chris who received support from Macmillan when they needed it most, and they continue to fundraise for such a great cause to help other families going through the same. I am so honoured to be a part of your team <3
Every donation made to this page will help to ensure that no one has to face cancer without the care, compassion, and expert support they need.
Together, we can make a Mighty difference.
