My story
On Christmas Eve 2024, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
We had just found out we were expecting our first baby and were in the middle of planning our wedding, so the news hit us incredibly hard.
The teams at Whiston Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospital were amazing, and in January 2025 I had surgery to remove the cancer.
Since then, I’ve had regular blood tests and scans to monitor things. It was through these checks that, in December 2025, we found out the cancer had returned in my lymph nodes.
Once again, the team at Clatterbridge Hospital have been incredible, and I am now undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
I decided to take on this hike (despite never having done a marathon before and certainly not after cancer treatment) to give something back and to prove that cancer will not stop me from living my life.
If you are able, please consider donating to help others get the care, support, and hope they need during such a difficult time.
Thank you so much for your support,
Kev
