My story
We are taking on a 26-mile hike in loving memory of my friend Vicky, someone who was part of my life since we were just 5 years old.
We grew up together side by side, sharing everything life brought our way from our school days, to marriage and then becoming parents. She wasn’t just a friend; she was part of my family, woven into every chapter of my life.
When she was diagnosed with cancer, she faced it with incredible strength and bravery. Even through the hardest moments, she remained the person we all knew and loved by being strong, determined, and full of love for those around her.
Macmillan were there for her and her family during that incredibly difficult time, offering support, care, and compassion when it was needed most. Our friendship group is truly special and we are doing this challenge together, to give something back and help them continue supporting families going through similar journeys.
