My story
In August 2024, my life was forever changed when I heard the words "I'm sorry, it is cancer."
I couldn't begin to imagine the physical and emotional challenges that I would face over the following 12 months of treatment.
The mental and physical toll of my cancer diagnosis and the subsequent treatments was enormous, and it continues to be. But Macmillan have been there for me throughout it all.
That is why I’m taking on the Cotswolds Mighty Hike, pushing my limits to hike 26 miles and raise £250 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, because no one should have to face cancer alone, just as I didn't have to.
Today, almost 3.5 million people in the UK are living with cancer, a figure that's growing steadily. Macmillan’s goal is to be there from diagnosis through every step of the journey.
That’s where we come in.
