My story
Aup everyone I’m taking on the Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike, pushing to raise £250 or more in support of Macmillan Cancer but also in memory of my mum.
It’s her 20th anniversary of losing her battle with this horrendous disease and I can honestly say I don’t know where the time has gone but 20 years that a day hasn’t gone by where I don’t treasure her existence of being my mum.
31st of August 2006 is a day that haunts me everyday but the long battle of the disease is the biggest affect on you witnessing your parent go through hell.
The strength and unconditional love my mum or Jackie gave everyone around her whilst she was going through chemo or having massive operations was incredible and is something I’ve certainly taken in my life and I live everyday through my mum.
With it being a significant year in her passing it was only right to do this for her but to be surrounded by people who have been affected by this terrible disease which will be quite comforting and empowering.
I would appreciate any donation and will be so grateful of what ever you could do to help whether you knew her personally, me or my family.
20 years on from her death with me only being 13 at the time and my sister only being 6 I would like to think we’ve done her proud growing up into adults and not to forget my dad losing his wife and being her rock all throughout her journey and giving me and my sister the best upbringing any kids could wish for and I wouldn’t be doing this without my dads support.
I’m going to give it my all on September 6th and beat this parasite of a disease along with so many other amazing people and just hope from back home in Derbyshire to Northumberland you will get behind me.
