My story
Last year, I had a small brush with skin cancer. Thankfully it wasn’t serious, but it was enough to change how I think about cancer and how quickly it can affect any of us.
Then earlier this year, our family received much harder news. My mum was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. It brought everything into sharp focus overnight.
We are incredibly grateful for the care she is receiving from the NHS. The speed, professionalism and compassion have been remarkable. But it has also shown us just how many families are facing this every day.
Taking on the Norfolk Macmillan Full Marathon Hike is our way of doing something practical. To support my mum, and to contribute in a small way to helping others who are going through the same fight.
Every step is for her, and for everyone affected by cancer.
Together, we can make a Mighty difference.
