My story
Back in February last year my son was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 13. The worst news a parent could ever receive. The UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre soon become a regular fixture in our lives. My son is doing well and continuing treatment but every time we visit we see new faces starting their own journey living with cancer.
Sadly, it's not my first experience with Macmillan. I also saw the support that my parents received directly from Macmillan when my father faced his terminal cancer diagnosis back in 2008.
In support of my son, in memory of my father Ron and my mother in law Val, and in tribute to my friend Caroline and my aunt Sheila who have faced their own cancer journeys, I’m taking on the Thames Path Mighty Hike, pushing my limits to raise money in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, because no one should have to face cancer alone.
Today, almost 3.5 million children and adults in the UK are living with cancer, a figure that's growing steadily. Macmillan’s goal is to be there from diagnosis through every step of the journey.
Your donation, no matter the size, will help ensure that no one has to face cancer without the care, compassion, and expert support they deserve.
Together, we can all make a Mighty difference.
Thanks very much
