Our story
On 13th June 2026 a 25-strong team of colleagues from Arch Re's London office will come together to take on the Macmillan Cancer Support South Coast Mighty Hike, starting at Brighton Race course (at 7.40am!) and finishing 26.2 miles later on Eastbourne seafront. The hike takes us across the beautiful Sussex countryside and the latter stages mean taking on the infamous Seven Sisters. The 'Sisters' on their own are a challenging walk without having done 20 or so miles beforehand! So why would we do such a thing? Right now, almost 3.5 million people in the UK are living with cancer, and that number continues to rise. Macmillan’s mission is to be there for everyone, from the moment of diagnosis through every part of their journey. The sobering fact is most people know someone who has been impacted by cancer. When support is needed, Macmillan are there. The nurses are phenomenal. The organisation strives to make a difference at the most challenging of times. The money HAS to come from somewhere. That's why we are doing this. Please donate whatever you can. We are aiming to raise an average of £250 per person - this being the amount needed by Macmillan to support the event.
